I, ANDERS EIDEBERG
I took these self-portraits, developed them, and then left them in various locations around Moscow - in bars, restaurants, hotels, and public toilets.
Any photos not taken, lost or thrown away were collected - between 10 minutes to 24 hours later. The result is what you have in front of you. The people who altered these photographs have never met me, heard of me, or seen me in the flesh. They were confronted with one representation and angle of me, one frame.
All three hundred of these different photos were later on display at The All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), during the 22nd VGIK International Student Film Festival, as part of the photo exhibition competition. The exhibition was awarded first prize.
Displayed between the 9th and 16th November 2002.
